I guess I have to post this. This is a great little project by Scott Schumann.

Good work. This really does help me grasp what OWS is. I didn’t really know before.

We have been remodeling and reorganizing our studio lately. This project has been going on since June. One fun thing that comes from this is finding old sketch books and pictures. This is from on of my sketchbooks from my first year at RISD. Good times.

David Sykes uses the QR code in a new way to launch his new site. The idea of a physical digital landscape is something I have been trying to think about for some time now. “I wanted to promote the relaunch of my website and this blog with a bespoke shot and a mail-out. The QR code is the perfect example of something physical that links to the digital world, so I hit on the idea of building and shooting my own physical QR code and sending out a limited edition mailer. Just the QR photograph; no name, no other links or information, just that.” – David Sykes.

What I really enjoy are the behind the scene shots of the promo shoot. The 3-D physical objects arranged in a space, and creating a readable landscape. A little city whose precise arrangement conveys digital meaning.
This reminds me of weaving, in a way.

Check out the new New Yorker mag. Interesting article about the occupy madness, and also a great gift guide! These Kaleidescope Ballet Flats can be purchased at ShopBop.com. And best of all, you can know that these shoes are made with love.

I always enjoy the Thanksgiving Day weekend. It’s a retreat into the country, with walks through native tall grasses and family. A place for my feet on this earth.
